Surface + Mark Analysis

Read the surface before the stamp.

Analysis first establishes whether the source image can support observation, preserves the authoritative original, then studies the manufacturing surface before isolating character forms or applied marks.

If the manufacturing surface is inconsistent with the expected original engine-pad process, later-applied stamp impressions cannot independently establish an original factory pad.
